Management training

The essence of management?

Just look at the translation: to manage [ma-na-ge], manage, control, guide, to be able to, get a grip of. A good manager is therefore a good controller; of processes, tools and especially people! Add to this the zeitgeist of the VUCA world that states what and how you best do this today (e.g. you motivate people differently these days than 20 or even 10 years ago). Management or leadership is different in nature. Whilst the manager organises and controls everything, the leader will adopt a pioneering role.

Questions people ask us...

What skills do you foresee for the leaders of the future? Future-proof management?

How do you currently view the performance cycle?

How do you discuss the aspect of "partial sickness" during absenteeism interviews?

Communication for team leaders

For shift supervisors and foremen, management is often (only) in communication with employees, their manager and colleagues. The focus is then on: how people challenge in the correct way, give compliments, conduct interviews. At the same time they come up with the most definitive and practical questions, which a pure manager might not think about.

Talent management

As soon as a manager at Telenet gains some experience in the role (after several years and once they have completed their basic management training) they receive GLP: Genuine Leadership Program.  A four-day training course in management. This also involves skills (which we often practise with an actor),yet the focus is on other issues: what is your interpretation of your role, what theoretical models you should bear in mind and apply by/with your team, how to approach talent management in practice, where your own strengths/weaknesses lie …

Cegeka: design itself

Just like many companies, Cegeka also has a Performance Policy in which objectives, performance and evaluation appraisals take place. This is a stressful moment for both employees and managers. This is a pity, as these interviews can be fine and rewarding.

Furthermore, the training content must be correct!  No poetic licence on the part of the trainer here, but precise guidelines on what is 'satisfactory' or 'good', who issues the invitation and other such arrangements.

And in support, we record examples of specific interview techniques, so that participants can go back and review how something works. And in the meantime, we combine the various recordings via the Learning Management System to form one curriculum, so that the training can be reduced or complete in other ways.  Just In Time learning in practice!

Carglass absentee interviews, actor, focus

Conducting absenteeism interviews is often a difficult exercise for any manager.  That's why a great many techniques are deployed at Carglass.  However: the need often doesn't exist as the typical Carglass manager is very familar with these techniques and practical applications; but application in absenteeism interviews and the quest for what can and can't be said, is even more important and necessary for the managers.  Via actual cases, we ensure that we arrive at certain fundamental discussions quickly, to ensure that we do not find ourselves talking around in circles, but can actually apply it.
